Hatha yoga is the branch of yoga that typically comes to mind when you think of yoga in general terms. The practice involves breath, body, and mind, and classes are usually 45 minutes to 90 minutes of breathing, yoga poses, and meditation.
In yoga, intuition could be thought of as receiving knowledge from outside of the self’s ability to reason and process information through intellect, such as receiving a gift of true thought or knowledge from the soul or heart.
Vinyasa is a style of yoga characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath. Commonly referred to as “flow” yoga, it is sometimes confused with “power yoga“.
Aroma Yoga is an inspiring way to start the day by using fragrances that complement yoga moves. Simply put it means burning an essential oil or a blend of essential oils while practicing yoga.
Kundalini yoga is a form of yoga that involves chanting, singing, breathing exercises, and repetitive poses. Its purpose is to activate your Kundalini energy, or shakti. This is a spiritual energy that’s said to be located at the base of your spine.
A slow yoga practice, with each pose held for a couple of minutes. When we slow down, we have the time we need to refine and fully experience each pose. It is less of a cardiovascular workout than a fast, flowing one, but it may help us build strength.
